The Sunday Collapse

The game was off to a good start and the Raiders are a very good team when they have the lead.  With the playoff birth and the division title within reach we came out intense and with motivation to take what was ours.  Sounds like a good movie trailer right?  Well that’s not the way things happened this Sunday, sure we came out with a bang, sure we looked like a competitive team, but in the end we shot ourselves in the foot once again.

The Raiders had a commanding lead in the second half of the game 24-14 with 11:21 left in the 3rd quarter.  Well at this point my blind faith led me believe that our defense was stout and all the trash talking the John Henderson we weren’t going to let these guys run the ball and without the run game there is no way they can beat us.  Well once again blind faith of a Raider fan, John Henderson wasn’t visible I had to look at the stat sheet to know he had 2 tackles, I think that might even be a season high for him.

RUN DMC got it done again but the battle was lost on the other side of the ball when we failed to stop Rashad Jennings on a 74 yard TD run.  At this point you think we are going to get back out there and pound these guys again their defense is tired anyways, WRONG!  Before the new improved Raiders O can get out there and pound the ball our most consistent player over the past few weeks Jacoby Ford fumbles on the kickoff return, which ultimately led to the 38-31 loss by the Raiders.  All of a sudden I felt like we were back in week 3 and Jano just missed a 32 yard field goal to lose to the Cards.

It’s a work in progress the problem with us Raiders fans is that we are always looking for that commitment to excellence that Mr. Davis has drilled into our heads.  We want the ‘Just Win Baby!!’ back.  Well we aren’t there yet but I’m sure that all of us Raiders fans are proud of the fight this team has this year.  You can actually cheer during an entire game, unlike previous years when we could just cheer for the first 5 min. of the game and then all was lost.

To end this today I’d just like to say keep faith Raider Nation good days are ahead and before you know it the Raiders will be back on top of the AFC West and then on top of the NFL!!  Tell all the haters the rise of the ‘dark side’ is upon us!!!

RUN RAIDERS RUN!!

After two weeks of being MIA the Raiders run offense and the Raiders defense appeared!  The Chargers for the first time in a long time are now on the losing end of the streak against Oakland.  It is about time that the Silver & Black attack started to stand up for themselves in the AFC west as right now we are 4-0 against our division and after 12 games we are only two out of first place.

How Oakland got the win??  The biggest question of this Sunday and I can tell you how it happened with one simple stat 251 rushing yards for Oakland and 21 rushing yards for San Diego!  If you run the ball effectively and stop the run the game is yours every time out.  It goes with the same old rule of the battle is won and lost on the front line; we won the defensive and offensive battle during this game!  Now I will say rushing and passing go hand in hand, because of our effective running we were able to pull of some marvelous play-action passes and thanks to Jason Campbell were able to complete those passes.

Well it’s nearing the playoffs and the Raiders are in the hunt of a playoff spot.  As I do not think it is possible for the Raiders to get a wild card spot I do see a big chance at winning the division if it comes down to the last game of the year in Arrowhead Stadium.  It has been a great year so far and I know my Raider Nation is as excited as I am as the playoffs near!  LET’S GO RAIDERS!!!!!

Win, Lose or Tie it’s Raiders Till I Die!!
